This 214 had a bad engine so I dropped a sweet running 10 horse Kohler in it. My wife won't let me have a hog so I put some big tires off a JD 400 on the 214 and called it 'Fat Boy 21X'. The muffler is a little baffed out but has a nice tone. If Harley made a garden tractor with a 10 HP Kohler it would sound just like this one.
Darrin Behm painted his 316 all yellow and it looks great so I decided to see what my little JD would look like in a different color. I fired up Photoshop and played around a bit. I haven't actually painted the tractor blue yet. I'm worried the JD purists would have me rubbed out.

These old JD garden tractors are built like tanks. The Kohler engines are incredible too. The 10 hp motor I dropped into this 214 is 30 years old and has never been rebuilt. It still starts and runs great though.
