This Half N project is well on it's way to completion. The paint looks a little odd in this pic but it's just the way the sun is hitting it. I'm building this little fella as a gift for my father.

The battery is located below the gas tank so I need to fabricate something that covers the top of it.

I hated doing it but the old Cub Original below was dismantled and used for my Half N. It was shabby looking but in excellent mechanically shape.

  • 7 HP Kohler K161 engine
  • FG Awesome Henry hood

Awesome Henry is a father and son venture. Don and Dave Knasel sell flathead V8 kits for 8N's. They also sell the scaled down 8N fiberglass hood I used for my project and I'll be purchasing their FG rear fenders next time I'm at the Portland Tri-State show.

The aluminum Honda gas tank has a seam that joins the two halves and looks a lot like the full size 8N tank.

This shot shows the 8N dash cut down to size. All I had to do was trim the lip where the hood closes. I still have to find a Proofmeter for it. They're available new but all I really need is a used one that doesn't work, since it can't actually be hooked up anyway.
