I bought this 2004 JD L100 new, put 3 tanks of gas through it and sold it to my father. He was looking for a riding lawnmower and I had quickly realized it was not suitable for my purposes. The L series is designed to mow grass and that's about it. There are a few attachments available such as a snowblower, but the transaxle is built so light that I wouldn't even consider mounting one on it.

The 17 hp Briggs & Stratton I/C engine has been very reliable. Other than the factory battery having to be replaced after only one year of use the L100 always starts and runs well. It's good on fuel too.
