If you like old iron
the Tri-State Antique Engine
& Tractor Show And Swap Meet is the place to go. The images you'll see using the
links above don't do it justice. There's 50 glorious acres
of old engines and tractors. The swap meet area alone is
mind boggling. It happens in late August every year and I wouldn't miss
it. You shouldn't either.
Pictured on the right is my 80 year old dad. He missed the
Portland show this year for the first time in 15 years. He
stayed home to undergo a triple-bypass. It's a pretty
serious heart operation but he's recovering nicely and
looking forward to the 2010 show. There's a swap meet in the spring that he
attends too. He should have his own show some day. He
claims he only has about 70 antique gas engines. It looks
like way more than that to me but I can't prove it. He
moves them around so much it's like counting baby pigs.
