The 1950 Mercury M47 pickup on the left was a 20 year project. My father traveled to Cold Lake Alberta, a 4000 mile round trip, to bring it home. The truck was finished in the spring of 2011. It's basically a brand new vehicle.

Dad likes bombing around in this 1931 Model A that he literally found in a barn. It was only 5 miles from home and is a prime candidate for a full blown restoration, but he wants to leave it as is. It runs great and there's no worries about scratches.

Dad is an antique engine nut, er.. I mean collector. He has about 75 of them. He built a miniature version of one of his big engines from scratch. He even duplicated the trailer the full size engine sits on. The little fella runs like a top just like it's big brother.

Engines and more engines can be found in the various buildings on dad's home farm. He started collecting them about 18 years ago after he retired from farming and rented out his land. Since then he's been all over Canada and the US wheeling and dealing.

Dad standing beside a load of
goodies he hauled home from Alberta. The 1950 Mercury pickup on the gooseneck trailer has a spare cab sitting in it's box and there are various other parts strapped down. It was a big load for an F150 with a 4 cylinder Perkins diesel in it out of a combine, especially in the mountains. My mother said it was a near death experience on wheels till they made it to flatland.

This 1931 Model A
business man's coupe is literally like new. Dad sold it last year to a friend who is taking very good care of it.
